Pink Mother of Thousands
Creme & Pink Mother of Thousands – Kalanchoe
Cream & Green Mother of Thousands (Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi variegata) A very colourful cultivar of the normal blue-green Mother or Thousands (Kalanchoe). It has pink-edged leaves and brownish – yellow flowers. The normal non-variegated plant originates in the Montaine (cloud) forest area of Madagascar. This variegated form is more than likely a garden hybrid. In the Summer the showy cream and pink leaf variegation develops. This kalanchoe is very easy to grow. It makes a great house plant. Give it full sun and water when dry. It gets it’s name from the fact that new plantlets form on the outside of the leaves. Over a life time one plant can produce thousands of offsprings. The small plantlets are simply removed from the mother leaf and replanted in a new pot.
