Park Seed Verbascum ‘Carribean Crush’

Caribbean Crush’ is far and away the showiest and most elegant Verbascum in the world, and you should definitely plop it right down in your worst soil. Yes, you read that right. Verbascum is one of these heaven-sent perennials that actually prefers poor, dry, rocky soil. Deer leave it alone, drought doesn’t faze it, and about the only thing you can do wrong is plant it in a moist boggy area or give it too much fertilizer (which will make the stems and leaves grow vigorously and the plant need staking, but won’t do anything for the flowers!). It flowers very heavily in late spring, and if you shear back the 2-foot flowerstalks the minute they fade, it may just repeat the show in early summer!
