In order to divide the room into functional areas, you should just place there shelving for books. Especially easily mountable design of glass, metal, and, of course, tree, occupying the entire space from floor to ceiling, are very popular now. Moreover, they easily can be moved on wheels or rollers effortlessly. Even the traditional wardrobe can divide the bedroom into two parts.
It is also appropriate to put in the bedroom a separated bed space in Japanese style. It is appropriate to have shelves in the same style, as well.
