Interior Design in Loft Style
Loft as a style of interior design grew out of the layout of large rooms and modern design solutions. In the forties of the 20 century in New York people began to settle down the old abandoned factories. In the process of re-planning of large buildings (former warehouses, shops, industrial premises) into living spaces without partitions and additional constructions, elements of modern materials (glass, plastic, etc) were included into concrete-brick walls.
However, many industrial items specifically weren’t removed, but “fit” into the new interior.
Style of interior, called loft, somehow reminds rough walls, combination of basic building materials with minimal decoration and furniture made of modern materials, which together form a space similar to the garret.
Interior designers believe that the loft style is exclusively individual and is not for everyone. The nature and the type of activity of this style is closer to bohemian artists and wandering poets, travelers and musicians of non-traditional styles, and just eternal students. This style is the reflection of not only internal mood, but the projection of the perception of the outside world.
Today, loft-style is called housing of the 21st century, because even in the midst of the big city you can arrange the best air-filled space and spacious housing.
If you prefer light and spacious more than comfortable retreat, if clarity of form and brevity of functions is of more importance than the awkwardness of luxury, if you don’t like a lot of things, and the mess makes you angry, don’t hesitate to choose the loft style and enjoy the freedom of creation.
