Kayiwa Studio Launches AAKKOSET Shelf: Screen-Shelves From The Finnish Alphabet
Author of the project, Lincoln Kayiwa, was born in Uganda, in a family of architects, but eventually moved to Finland, where he graduated from the University of Art and Design in Helsinki, and shortly thereafter founded his own design studio Kayiwa. The rack AAKKOSET Shelf can be considered one of the first works executed under the brand of this studio.
The shelf-like characters can be filled with books, toys or plants or you can leave them blank.
Despite the fact that the project is the Finnish word “aakkoset”, which translated means “alphabet”, the letters depicted on the shelves, still are not Finnish but Latin. And can we consider them shelves? The fact is that the rack is positioned by the author as a shelf divider for the room. Well, if it is necessary to separate the working part of the room from the recreation area, or fence it into two parts, if your family and children of different sexes is not possible to distinguish each separate room.
It is expected that the shelf-alphabet will be available in several colors: black, blue, green, orange, red, purple, white and yellow, and all the details about the product, as usual, on the site of Kayiwa studio.
