Interior Color For Children
In schools of Baltimore (USA), an experiment to determine the effect of environmental conditions on the behavior of color and performance of children has been conducted for two years. More rational paintings of the classrooms had influence on the academic success of students.
Whereas in the French school, children complained of rapid fatigue and impairment of view: color physiologists were invited to examine the health status of students. They advised to change dramatically the color of the environment. They painted the ceilings and upper walls white, the bottom colored in cream, furniture and floors – the color of light wood: as a result lighting of the classrooms greatly improved, students were less tired, and the number of children with various eyesight diseases decreased two times.
This is not surprising: after all, white color enhances brightness by reflecting 80% of daylight, and unlike other flowers devoid of emotional impact on others. American doctors have noticed that dusk causes depression for humans, and the bright light increases the emotional tone: this explains our depression in the winter and with increasing duration of the day our mood improves.
The state of the nervous system in children is at a proper level in the room, painted in white, blue or green, compared with a yellow or red environment (these shades tire and cause irritation).
