Prepare for Winter: Modern Methods of Windows Insulation
You should take care of the insulation of windows, before the onset of cold weather, because not all heat insulation materials are well stuck on the frozen surface. The thing is that the tubular sections are made for small (E) and large gaps (P, D). Thus, you can choose the option you need. They can easily be glued to the frame, and they will not be visible. You can easily close the windows as before, and the airtightness will increase. The term of their use is 5 years. By the way, don’t forget that the gaskets must be stuck to at zero temperature (above +10).
The material, which is used to produce insulation, is diverse. It is foam rubber and polyurethane, foam and polyvinyl chloride. In addition to these, there are also rubber profiles. They are performed in two variants; the first must be stocked up on glue, the second is self-adhesive.
The advantage of PVC insulations of windows is that they are resistant to low temperatures, don’t crumble and don’t deform. The argument for the rubber will be the fact that it will wear out more slowly. Don’t take the off sealants of solid rubber. Instructions on the packaging will give you more specific information about the seal material.
Self-adhesive seals for insulating windows have their own advantages and disadvantages. They are glued simply: you should just unstick the pellicle. But if the shelf-life of the glue expires, it may happen that the seal will fall off after some time. In a worst case it may not be glued at all.
If you pay more attention to the purchase of glue, you will be able make everything correctly by yourself. Choose the glue, which is resistant to moisture. You must take into account its ability to stretch and shrink in the dried state. Silicone sealants have such qualities. The numerous openings and closings will not affect the retention of the sealant on the windows and doors.
We are sure that following these tips the insulation of windows will not be a problem for you.
