New associations of Karim Rashid: Collection Vondom Chair for Vertex

Furniture collection Vondom Chair for Vertex is one of the last, as always futuristic works of Karim Rashid. A set consisting of table and chairs designed for use in public places: cafes, restaurants, conference-halls and other facilities of similar nature.

According to the author’s project, the collection is created for integration into space with the aim to form a conceptual interior with complex associative connections.

It seems that the objects of the furniture collection are carved from a single piece of a space material. The author seems to simply cut off all unnecessary things, having an elegant, but very unusual for the master, whether original, or crystalline form with a lot of broken lines and smooth surfaces. Smooth, flowing curves, as cheerful bright colors, inherent in the work of Karim Rashid, this time stayed away from this project.

In this case, the “sensual minimalism” is replaced by intellectual one. Looking at the spectacular and ergonomic shapes of the collection, spontaneously association arises with the design of Lamborghini, Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk, or Stealth.

These magnificent pieces of furniture are made by rotational molding. The main characteristics of this advanced technology are 100% secondary refinement and endless possibilities of shaping.
