Pink as a Modern Color for Interior Decoration

Pink as a Modern Color for Interior Decoration

There is an opinion that pink is pure girlish color, suitable only for decoration of rooms for little girls and young ladies who are likely to fill your home with numerous ruches and girlish stuff.

There is little doubt that mostly women love pink, but we must not forget that the different shades of color are often decorated with formal interiors of palaces and mansions in the heyday of great artistic styles of 17-19 centuries – from baroque to classicism. Raspberry, hot pink, ash and other muted shades of this color are perfectly combined with white stucco and gilding decoration. The masters of Art Nouveau loved this color: pastel shades of pink met their desire to convey a girl’s tenderness and beauty of the awakening of nature.

The popularity of pink color in the interiors of the past centuries explains the fact that nowadays it is widely used for decoration of living rooms and bedrooms in the classic styles. These interiors are often made in pastel colors, where pink was combined with white and various shades of beige, blue and purple.

Classic Interiors by no means is not the only sphere, where pink is used: its bright saturated colors are ideal for interiors in the style of pop art, where it is used as a basic color and also bright accents.

However, pink as a separate element of decor will fit in almost any style. The subdued shades of pink in the living room will bring beauty and sophistication. They will create a soft and romantic atmosphere in the bedroom. The point here is not to overdo it and not slide into the vulgar sort of past styles with an abundance of frills, ruche and pillows.

Pink is irreplaceable, when making a room for girls of all ages. This does not mean that the room should look like a Barbie house, although this option has the right to exist: when else you can plunge into the world of pink. However, one painted pink wall or a few elements of furniture in pink color can create a joyful atmosphere and indicate maiden belonging room. When decorating a nursery, it is also important to sustain the limits and bring the interior to the cloying sweetness, though this is, of course, a matter of taste.

For the beautiful sex, who is not satiated with pink paint as a child, pink interiors are great opportunity to express their feminine essence. Pink bedroom, cloak-rooms or bathrooms will serve a constant source of good mood for such creatures.
