Aquarium as a Part of the Interior
Aquarium is not only a little corner of nature in the apartment, which pleases the eye, distracts from the problems and calms the nerves. Today, an aquarium can become if not the principal, at least a stylish element of the interior, which is able to set mood to the rest of the space. The so-called floor aquariums will look very good in the interior of any apartment- both big and small. As a rule, such designs consist of cupboards, the aquarium and a cover-lamp.
The cupboard can be made both of plastic and wood – mostly oak is used. Of course, wood in the interior looks much better; however, plastic base is still much more practical.
Aquariums of medium size – 150-200 liters – will complement the interior of a study or, for example, a bedroom. And the “water world” can occupy the former place of a TV-set. At the same time in choosing the appropriate lighting the aquarium in the bedroom will serve as a night lamp.
The use of an aquarium as an element of the zoning of the area is also an effective method. Thus, an aquarium with length of two or three meters can separate one room from another and thus become a worthy decoration of both rooms. Such built-in aquariums can separate the space between the dining room and living room or kitchen and dining room.
Aquariums-dioramas are the ones with a curved front glass that create a stunning effect of immersion into the water world. However, they can be placed only in large areas, for example, in living rooms.
The most courageous decision will be to place an aquarium-diorama in the bathroom. By the way, such aquariums can be both floor and embedded.
You can use the interior of a small area too by placing in it a few small aquariums with single fish inside. Aquariums-patterns are another variant for small spaces. The depth of such aquariums, as a rule, does not exceed 15 cm, but on the other hand you can hang it anywhere: in the children bedroom or living room.
