Interior Decoration: Vases

Vase is a wonderful accessory that can act as a decorative object and be practical at the same time.
Vases of any form are present in almost every fashionable interior. The reason is simple – a vase as an accessory bears two rarely combined functions, usability and aesthetics. Plus, a vase can reflect the tastes and lifestyles of the owners, fill their lives more comfort and create a cozy “private” atmosphere. Interior accessories can either play a decorative role, or have practical significance, and can combine the practical and aesthetic load. Vase is exactly such an accessory.
Vases accompany people from immemorial time: first, they served as ceremonial objects, and then became decorative elements of interior and exterior of buildings. Vases decorated the homes pharaohs of ancient Egypt, the kings of Mesopotamia, the emperors of ancient Rome. Of course, in those days, vases were primarily parts of the palace interior and served as an accessory of facilities, owned by rich and prominent people. Now these functional and beautiful decor elements find their place in modern interiors.
Why are vases considered such important and useful interior accessories? First, they can carry a double decorative burden: to play the role of independent elements of decor, and serve as excellent frames for the elements of phyto-design – natural flower arrangements and bouquets of dried flowers.
Floor vases are often used as independent decorative elements, especially if they differ with complex, intricate form or have a bold pattern on the surface. Nevertheless, monochrome floor vase is quite coping with the role of the vessel for bouquets, but it is better to put the track of dried flower in a vase. Natural flowers for the floor vases must be chosen with care and caution: it is important not to overdo and clearly understand what you want to emphasize – the beauty of the vase or of a bouquet. If you care about the first – the floral arrangement must be simple and fit the style of the vase, if you want to focus on the flower – vase should be opaque in color, simple in form, made of glass or ceramic. This principle is quite relevant for table vases, but they allow more variations.
The second unquestionable advantage of vases is that their diversity makes it possible to pick up a vase, perfect for the style of any room. Exotic vases made of wood perfectly complement the interiors in the ethnic style, original, metal and plastic vases would look wonderful on the hi-tech backdrop; classic interiors allow you to select a variety of vases: pottery, crystal, porcelain, bronze and Murano glass. The form of the vase (amphora, jar, “bottle”, “drop”, cone, square, etc.) and its size should not only conform to the style of the premises and practical purpose, but to a specific location in the interior (for example, a large floor vase with bright ornaments should be allocated on separate place, otherwise it just gets lost in the interior, “wiped” with parts of furniture).
If you need a vase for flowers, definitely choose the glass one. Glass vases, among other things, are the most democratic and suitable for any interior. Porcelain requires a certain “aristocratic” situation and the presence of other sophisticated gadgetry as companions. Color accents in the interior can be arranged with the help of vases from Murano glass. Eclectic is very fashionable now, that is why vases, which combine several materials: ceramics and bronze, brass and porcelain, glass and brass attract special attention. These vases have a very original shape and look great in a variety of interiors.
