NambT Ripple 13-Inch Fruit Bowl

Is it a work of art, a bowl, or a plate? Ripple is all three. One of Karim Rashid’s most unique creations for Nambé, the 13-inch piece looks like a graceful lily pad rippling to exaggerated effect in watery currents. Crafted of fine European porcelain, vitrified for strength, and flawlessly glazed pure white, the bowl makes a striking artistic statement on its own merit, and may be put to use serving a selection of fresh grapes, cherries, and ripe peaches. Or wasabi-dusted almonds. Or chilled pink prawns with a bowl of dipping sauce nearby. The possibilities are left up to the imagination. While the durable porcelain is safe for microwave and dishwasher use, the shape and size of the Ripple bowl make washing it by hand more practical.
Nambé was founded in 1951 in a village of the same name in scenic northern New Mexico. From the beginning, the company focused on hand-producing high-quality, functional items such as sand-cast metal bowls and trays with great attention to timeless, modern design. Along with the porcelain tableware, crystal also now joins Nambé’s metal lines, all of which make exceptional gifts for the most special of occasions. Nambé ware has won numerous design awards, has been shown in or recognized by nearly two dozen museums worldwide, and is part of the permanent collections of many, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
