A Kitchen Compromise: Elegant & Funky

All three take a trip to Ann Sacks Tile and Stone, the very place Cheri and Naren had an argument about tile before. This time Payne is there to help. They see a lot of samples and have a good idea of the design layout, based on a magazine idea. They decide glass tile would work well in the powder room because it would reflect the light and make the room appear bigger.
A second trip, to Euroconcepts, offers a look at countertops, appliances and faucets for the kitchen and powder room.
Back at home, the old white tile and countertops are pulled out in the kitchen, making way for the new yellow tile with blue keys on the backsplash and a granite countertop.
For the powder room, Payne designed a tile layout for the glass colored tile. Starting with the darkest green tile and slowly graduating lighter colors in the same palette, it ends in a light powder blue.
The final tour of the kitchen reveals color and classic details. From the stainless steel appliances to the black granite countertop, Naren and Cheri are very happy. Cheri even has a little sitting area in the kitchen that she wanted. She is also very happy with the bathroom. She has the colorful, funky looking powder room she wanted. Naren is equally happy with it because it’s designed with function in mind.
