The old saying goes that there is a broken heart for every light on broadway, but we think this shasta daisy is going to set about repairing some wounded gardeners’ hearts with its ease of culture and absolutely magnificent blooms. These big daisies open bright yellow and then turn all shades from butter to cream to pure white as they mature. A fully blooming plant is a color spectacle, and each bloom is lovely in itself. Just 18 to 24 inches high, this compact Leucanthemum is good for containers as well as the garden. It sets masses of blooms in late spring and early summer. Deadhead them promptly and you will probably get another big show in late summer! hardy in zones 4-8, and a vigorous annual everywhere else!
