Electric Blower

Toro Power Sweep 7-AMP Electric Blower #51586
For something like this Power Sweep, I’m sure people are looking for the exceptions that DON’T rate this product highly. But I can’t take away any stars from the Toro. Here’s what I like if you can relate:
– At first the lack of a power cord was odd. But after I realized I can put on the 100-footer or the 50-footer that I have depending on my usage, I found this refreshingly convenient. I’d rather have the cord from the machine to the socket without risking an extension joint following me around and threatening to get wet or something.
– The power is pretty good. Any more and I’d be scattering the stuff somewhere. Dry and damp stuff moves easily, the best being some day-old cat-poo that I discovered in the middle of my front yard.
– Nice balance on the handle – I’m not an expert on hand-held appliances like this, but it’s very easy to hold and move in whatever direction.
– The cord securing thingy secures the cord on the machine end, so the power doesn’t suddenly fall out on a stretch. I wish my outlet had a similar thing
– When I first started using it, and getting the cord tangled around posts and other things, I felt I could have picked a cordless version, which is more $$ and will probably need battery replacement after some cycles. But during the first use I was minding the cord well enough to not regret the $$ savings. Here I don’t have to worry about running short on juice, just short on the cord (my 100-footer does fine for all my property)
– I really like this for clearing twigs and sharp bits from seed pods and trees from the grass right before walking barefoot or sitting on it. The rake was a lot of trouble for the kind of stuff on my grass, this is perfect.
– If you have pets, you might want to get them used to the whine – while it’s not that annoying (and the gas blower fumes are thankfully absent) it may annoy dogs and other ears that get higher frequencies.
