 No doubt Aladdin’s magic carpet was a dhurrie—just like our exclusive Serrano Rug. The first dhurries were actually used as blankets and only later became popular as rugs, thanks to their visually appealing geometric patterns. Then, during India’s British colonization, the art of dhurrie-making nearly died out. Luckily it didn’t, because thick wool-and-cotton weaves like our bold spicy Serrano look great just about anywhere. And they can last for generations. Magic carpets, indeed.
