Smalt in Interior Design
Smalt is a special kind of colored glass produced by special technology. To produce tiny particles of colored glass pressed together and heated to a temperature of 7001-800°, resulting in a sintered glass. The resulting material is opaque, but as if illuminated from within. Therefore, even the composition of the glazes of the same color and look like an original volume.
Smalt features variety of shapes and colors.
Pieces of material can have a regular geometric solution (square, rectangle, triangle) and non-standard or random shapes (trapezoid, debris, polygons). This allows the use of smalt for decoration in a variety of styles.
Color gamma of smalt presented today in a very broad range. The final shade of the working material will depend on the type and amount of metal oxide that is added during production. It should be noted that in the manufacture of glazes are not used artificial colors, only metal oxides (iron, nickel, copper, manganese, gold, silver, cobalt, etc.), which allows us to create a special, intense, and at the same time, glowing from the inside shade.
