Paintings for Apartment
Where to hang a painting? Let’s learn about the basic principles of correct placement of paintings in the interior.
Very often we find in the homes of our friends and acquaintances many interesting and nice paintings: oil, watercolor, pencil sketch. These are reproductions of famous paintings and works of a local painter, and at times, the arts of the owners themselves. It is immediately noticeable how the picture is in harmony with all other interior, whether it fits the spirit of the room.
What painting to hang and where? Undoubtedly, the painting “The Ninth Wave” by Aivazovsky will look inappropriate in the kitchen, unless, of course, your cozy corner is not constructed as a ship’s cabin. “Still Life” is the most successful painting for kitchen.
Leave the landscape for the living room. First, it is a suitable pattern to complement your interior, and secondly, it will make the style more elegant.
Paintings, made by masters of avant-garde direction, look original and force you to reflect on the art. Depending on your mood, each time the content of the picture will be filled with a new meaning. However, it is not necessary to hang such a picture in the living room or bedroom – it is a resting area, where people want to relax and not to think about hidden meanings, the avant-garde will irritate them. Avant-garde painting looks perfect in the office or, for example, in a hookah room.
To decorate your child’s room, choose pictures based on his tastes and preferences. Young children love to see on the
wall of heroes of fairy tales and cartoons, the older – the heroes of comic books, illustrations, telling of the long journeys and adventures. But do not overdo, otherwise the child will be distracted.
As already mentioned, landscape is the most suitable for the bedroom, but be restrained, choose a picture pleasant of fresh hues – the atmosphere will cause to relax and rest. However, if a bedroom for you is a place of passion, and the whole entourage is bright, do not restrain your desires: the picture of juicy colors or black and white contrast makes the interior finished and chic.
Hall and the foyer can also be decorated with the pictures. Typically, in standard apartments, these areas occupy only a few meters. Therefore, works of the masters should be small in size. If your hall has an elongated shape, choose a painting of non-standard forms, such as the format of a panoramic picture, or place several small paintings of one subject. But be careful – works must be combined with each other. And know a sense of proportion, because the hallway is not a picture gallery.
