Office Design in Loft Style
The idea of creating loft style isn’t new. It was originated in the forties of last century as a result of the use of abandoned factories and cheap rooms under the eaves of old buildings in the factory district of Manhattan in New York.
This kind of design impressed on creative people. Soon, it was incredibly fashionable to re-create “industrial” atmosphere was not only in cafes and restaurants, but also in ordinary urban apartments and suburban houses. Today loft style is very relevant in the Moscow offices, as well.
The type of industrial premises dictates key features of loft. The composition loft, as a rule, opens and ensures maximum space and light. Another distinguishing feature is the combination of old and new materials. Brickwork, concrete walls and simple wooden or stone floor are appropriate to combine with glass, chrome accents and modern technology.
If these rarities are not enough, loft may contain deliberately aged materials, which in any case will be combined with shiny surfaces; steel tiles, stainless steel panels, glass partitions, etc. At the same time a part of the industrial elements, for example pipes, rough painted walls remain intact, in order to emphasize the feature of the interior.
