Neri Hu Design And Research Office: Eclecticism Of Time And Space
Luxury Hotel Waterhouse, located on the banks of Huangpu River (Shanghai, China) in the historic district, near the shipyard has become an architectural intervention in the building industry, in the form of a brilliant contemporary expression of Chinese aesthetics. The authors of the reconstruction were Chinese architectural studio Neri Hu Design and Research Office (NHDRO).
The project consists of two parts: the hotel and public areas, ably designed from the former warehouse. Within the bounds of the hotel, the authors have provided 19 comfortable rooms and a bar and restaurant, located on the roof.
The Concept of the hotel lies in the alternation of public, intimate and personal zones. And their design is executed in a single, eclectic and distinctive style. The result of the work of architects and designers is that Waterhouse can be called a work of modern art building interior without exaggeration.
Public areas are designed for a wide range of activities: advertising presentations, fashion shows, weddings and celebrations. That is why the designers considered a flexible interior in these areas, easy to convert and it is ideal as an elegant background.
Modern furniture, furniture items and decor continue to support the theme, given the original context of ancient buildings. This filigree is a version of loft-like space, as if it mixed past, present and future, frames from movies, fragments of dreams, exterior, interior and prospects of the city views from the rooms.
Inside the hotel, the visitor is in the center of a frozen moment in the dynamics, while feeling safe and comfortable. More from this and other works of the authors of reconstruction can be found by visiting the official website of the company.
