Laminated Cover for Classic and Country Interiors
Today, laminate is one of the most popular types of flooring, it is widely used both in design of residential and public buildings. By appearance, it reminds parquet. As the parquet flooring has always been considered the most beautiful and prestigious coating, the laminate, which is more accessible and cheaper, found its fans quickly. In addition, the laminate has many virtues, due to which he became a worthy competitor to other types of flooring. Laminate flooring is not only beautiful and comfortable, but it is also environmentally friendly and practical coating that allows you to use it in the rooms, which are decorated in various styles, from classical to country.
Although, at first glance, the laminate is very similar to the parquet, they have virtually nothing in common, not taking into account the basis, which is made from waste that is produced during processing of wood. Laminate flooring is an integral coating, assembled from individual strips in length from 1200 to 2000 mm and width of 200 mm.
According to durability, laminated coating is divided into six classes (21, 22, 23, 31, 32, 33). The use of any kind of laminate depends precisely on the class of durability. For example, in the bedroom or in the dressing-room you can use the lower classes (21, 22, 23). In the dining room, living room or in the corridor it is safer to put cover of 31 or 32 classes. Particularly shiny coating with glossy surface looks impressive. For the lobby, hallway and kitchen there is a special moisture-resistant laminate of 31 class. In addition, modern laminate coating for the kitchen has shape of a tile.
Before laying laminate, the ground must be carefully prepared as it must be flat and rigid. Concrete screed is the ideal variant.
Laminate flooring is the glue and hinge. So, when you are styling glue laminate, the individual sections should be glued together. This installation is quite complicated, and besides, the damaged bar can not be replaced. The hinge laminate is more convenient, though it is a little bit expensive. It is easy to fit and immediately ready for further operation, moreover, the damaged old panel can be changed with the new, without any problem.
Laminated cover has got such popularity due to its merits. First, the laminate is durable and resistant to sunlight and mechanical stress. Therefore, heels, furniture, bright sun, the claws of animals and other factors don’t affect the appearance of the flooring. Secondly, it is very simple and easy to assemble, and it is fully prepared to cover, not requiring further treatment (scraping, sanding, varnishing). Thirdly, the wide range of shades, which are now offering laminate manufacturers, allows designers to create extremely stylish and elegant interiors.
Of course, the laminated cover has disadvantages, as well. The main disadvantage is that the laminate poorly tolerates water. Therefore, it is desirable to avoid prolonged contact with water. However, the laminate is not a natural surface, but it is an environmentally clean, hygienic and safe material which can be used in most rooms, including the nursery.
