Interior Design: Built-in Furniture Has Become Popular
Built-in furniture has become particularly popular among the fashion trends in interior design.
Built-in furniture is not a special and mysterious kind of furniture, but just a way to place it in the room and strictly on an individual project.
Therefore, the promise to sell you ready built-in furniture, should at least alert you, and largely cast doubt on the professionalism of manufacturers. The fundamental difference from any other furniture is the lack of housing. It certainly does not mean that the design is miraculously hanging in space, but shows that the walls and the ceiling serve as a base for housing. Does this make sense? Yes, of course it does. Otherwise there would be no craze to embed anything and everything: cabinets, beds, appliances.
The first and most important advantage is the maximum ergonomics. Are there any pitfalls and shortcomings? Of course there are. How can you do without a spoon of tar? Let’s start with the contrary meaning with the shortcomings. The first and main one is that when taking some place in the house under the built-in furniture, you deprive yourself of possible permutations. The option to drag the cabinet from one corner to another for the sake of diversity and change in the interior will not work. Therefore, before drilling walls and build something, try to answer honestly, what the permutations are for you: a fashion chip (the neighbor doesn’t have such) or a necessity?
The second drawback is the readiness of walls for the role of the shell. The first point is the safety. If the walls are covered with gypsum board, then to fix a huge wardrobe to the thinnest partition cannot be done for many technological reasons. In this case, now it has to be attached to the retaining wall already in the house. The second point is the cover. You should agree that any, even the most cheerful whitewashed inside the cabinet, is not compatible with clothes in it. It’s up to you, what it will be: wallpaper, paint or an option at your discretion, as long as you have thought: about it until the installation of the furniture and not after.
And finally the third, which is not exactly a complete shortcoming, is the money. We will immediately disappoint those who think what was saved on the CDP body stand for a “relief” compare to the value of the finished design. Built-in furniture not one of the cheap pleasures, unless, of course, you’re not going to do everything out of scrap materials with your hands. However, it is worth mentioning that, in contrast to other furniture built-in one requires knowledge on the production technology. Otherwise, your design will not last long. And this concerns not only the usual cabinets, but also other furniture such as beds. In short, the proverb “second thoughts – one cut off” best reflects the situation with the built-in furniture.
