Interior Decoration: Country Style
Country style with lots of faces: depending on the country, whose flavor it reproduces, it can change almost all the decorative elements in decorating the country interior. Aesthetics of this style tends to be images of the past, nostalgia for the “good old days”, regularity and comfort of free country life. Country as a trend is prevalent in all countries of the Old and New Worlds. And everywhere it has its own specific national characteristics.
Greek country, as an American one, is somehow simple. Whitewashed walls are in contrast with the brightly painted on both sides of a door and window frames. They use minimum of furniture, usually wooden and rough. Colorful dishes and utensils supplement with the image of the rural Mediterranean. American country differs with its simplicity, the minimal decoration, clarity of form and functionality.
German country looks heavier; it also uses natural materials and decorative details, such as stylized antique lamps, wrought iron items, and antique dishes.
Slavic country is distinguished, above all, the use of national elements of décor, such as painting, stained glass, tiles. And, of course, the presence of thread: as the tree is the main motive of the Slavic cottage interior from time immemorial. Patterned weave carved wooden furniture resonate with ornaments and embroidery, painting, decorating household items.
The furniture and decoration are used exclusively natural materials: wood, stone, cork covering the natural, light colors.
One of the characteristic features of the country style is abundance of textiles in all variations: textiles on the windows, upholstered furniture, in the form of ornaments on the walls.
The warmth of natural wood, pale colors, fireplace, wooden beams are the main zest that make the interior into a cozy country style.
This style is most suitable for small, low-ceilinged rooms without sophisticated architectural details. Kitchens and furniture in country style have a particular popularity today. The most common one is the use of wicker unpainted furniture.
