Extraordinary Design: Veranda
In modern world it is difficult to imagine a big house without a veranda. After all, it is often the room that combines the house and garden. The main task of the veranda is the union of these two completely different spaces into a single harmonious whole. No one can argue with the fact that in summer the veranda is the best place both for rest and for receiving guests. Here you can gather after a hard day’s work with your family or invite your friends over the weekend. The design of veranda gives primary imagination about the hosts. Many people turn to professionals, that is, to designers for help. Others prefer to arrange their corner themselves.
There are glazed and unglazed verandas.
In the first case, the windows are made in mostly one wall. Unglazed verandas – terraces can serve as a porch for the entrance to the house. It is nice to have breakfast there in a warm summer morning.
Before equipping the veranda, you must define its role: whether the veranda will serve as a hall, a continuation of the living room or a winter garden. Many people make the veranda a summer kitchen. It is not devoid of common sense, because it is cool, it’s easy to go out or have lunch or dinner right in the veranda.
When designing this room you should be guided by the fact that it should produce a relaxing effect and be a place where people can relax.
Defining the design of verandas you should take into account the architectural style of the house. Recently, the use of ethnic style and folk motifs in the interior has become very popular.
But you’d better design this room using personal preferences and not fashion trends. Thus, you can arrange it in the sea, east or exotic style.
Designing the veranda in a single color will create a cozy atmosphere for you to relax and rest.
But keep in mind that this room is not a living room, and all the furniture will be exposed to the influence of direct sunlight, difference of temperature and humidity. That is why modern designers recommend to use light wicker furniture made of sustainable materials. It can be plastic or redwood. The furniture should not be heavy. It will be very comfortable if you are able to easily remove the furniture and turn the veranda in a ballroom. Folding furniture or furniture that is easily exposed to transformation- folding sofas, folding tables and armchairs would perfectly fit for this.
All the elements of such furniture should be placed on one of the blank walls of the veranda.
Not everyone can afford a huge veranda. Very often this room is one of the smallest ones in the house. In this case, it can be optically enlarged using, for example, light shades of furniture and walls, mirrors, as well as the same flooring in the house and in the veranda.
Transforming the veranda, making it a real paradise, you can always feel happy and relaxed in this room.
