How to decorate the house for Easter
Flower compositions
Easter design is usually characterized by bright red-orange hues reflecting jubilation filling the hearts of Orthodox Christians this day. Flowers can be used to decorate dishes, icons, festive table. Compositions of primroses look very gentle and beautiful. It is also worth remembering about fresh greens: a couple of weeks before the holiday oats or wheat is germinated which symbolizes resurrection – dying and coming back to life. Greens can be germinated directly in the shell, or simply by using the shell as a vase for small flowers.
Decoration with eggs
Egg is one of the main elements of Easter symbolism. Boiled eggs may be used for decorating the interior, especially if you decorate them gracefully and with taste. Colored eggs and Easter cakes can be used to fill any basket by decorating it with bows, flowers beforehand or by just laying a beautiful towel in it. Painted eggs on special stands or vases will also look good. You can also buy or make beautiful eggs from papier-mâché or threads. They can be hung on bright ribbons.
Easter tree
Easter tree is usually decorated with paper Easter eggs or decorative eggs from shells and ribbons sewn from fabric with figures of birds, rabbits and other animals. Easter tree is easy to make. You need to find a small bucket or a roomy pot, fill it with floral foam and then put willow twigs into it. You can do it in quite a simple way- pour water into a large bowl or pour pebbles, and make a composition of freshly cut twigs.
Easter wreaths and nests may also serve as a wonderful decoration for the interior. Easter nest can be filled with colored eggs and placed on the festive table, and a wreath may be hung on the wall, window, door handle.
Easter things for home
The easiest way to decorate the house for Easter is to buy little things for your house and holiday table. For example, a set of dishes, dishtowels, egg cups or “thematic” candles. All these, of course, are little things, but mostly due to these items it becomes possible to transform the “harsh” reality and create a festive atmosphere in the house. Textile napkins folded beautifully and with love are enough to please our loved ones on Easter day!
