Cups with Modern Taiwanese Design from Xiao-Yang Lin
Taiwanese designer Xiao-Yang Lin has worked with artisans to create bowls and plates of the lunar rabbit, made of black clay. This cookware is the interpretation of a famous Chinese tale, which deals with the staying rabbit on the moon. This tale was very popular at the festival of the moon, which was held every autumn in Taiwan. Ling and Tan created a cup in which the rabbit was drinking water sips along the outskirts of the cup. They also created a dish in which a rabbit sitting on the edge, peered on its image at the bottom, which served as a form of this dish.
