Country Style in the Interior Design
This furniture is devoid of the notion of modernity or being unfashionable. The warmth and character of this style will make a nice atmosphere in any house. Country is considered to be a rustic style. The word itself is of Anglo-Saxon origin, means both a country and a village. This style appeared in the U.S., but it has moved away from the original source, becoming international, and has many varieties. In recent years the definition has expanded its horizons and now it is used equally in the meaning of an American ranch, a Swiss chalet, a Russian izba, English cottage. When people talk about country, first of all they mean the generalized image of a rural house without any specific “nationality”.
”Country” is, first of all, environmental design which presupposes natural construction and finishing materials. In decorating textiles are widely used. This style is characterized by multi-colouring, but not bright, but rather dense, rich, slightly dimmed. The colour solution is dominated by natural, often bright and pastel colours. Coloristic balance is of great importance.
Furniture is rough, but it comes with correct forms, with unpolished surfaces. Coming originally from the American province, the style gives a notion of a country house. Being modest and cosy, it is designed to give a spirit of village life, where elegance is blended with the practicality of family lifestyle. There are no strict laws here and it is better: you are free to interpret it, as you wish, and create your own eclectic in the spirit of “country”.
The image of the house, that is hidden in the mountains from the bustle of the city and protected from cataclysms, is inextricably related to wood – this diverse, but always beautiful, warm and living material. In this style of special value are the handicrafts – embroidered towels and napkins, quilts, wattle rugs “from granny’s chest”. Each thing is charming and unique in its own way.
