Chinese 15-Storey Hotel, Built In Six Days
Of course, Ark Hotel, built this summer in the Chinese city of Changsha, hardly anyone would call one of the greatest buildings in the world. But it does get in the history of the construction. And not because of their architectural merits, but for the incredible speed with which this hotel was built.
As its creation took a little less than six days!
This is not fantasy, but a real case that occurred in June of 2010 in the city of Changsha.
Moreover, the framework of this 15-storeyed building was built in just forty-six hours, and the remaining ninety hours spent on external and internal finishing Ark Hotel.
Of course, there can be nothing to mention about reinforced concrete here. The building is constructed entirely from prefabricated materials, a kind of semi-finished building, procured in advance. But still the speed of Chinese builders is simply impressive!
A doubting the reliability and stability of structures Ark Hotel will probably be interested to know the following fact about this building. It is designed for an earthquake with a magnitude of nine on the Richter scale!
Given this rate of construction of buildings by the Chinese, the Pyramid of Cheops, they would have built a couple of weeks, Cologne Cathedral – for six months, but in a completely-built cathedral architect Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia managed to grow old.
