Armenian Restaurant: Erivan
Armenia is a country of mountains, gentle sun and blooming fertile valleys, it’s the country of red-ripe fruits and excellent brandy. A part of real Armenia is situated in the restaurant “Erivan”.
Armenian national decorative elements are combined with modern European ones in the big hall of the restaurant. Small ethnic hall is decorated in a peasant style – with pottery hand-woven carpets and tablecloths with patterns. It’s a pleasure to sit next to fireplace, which is in the luxurious VIP-hall for 12 persons with antique furniture and its own library of nice sit by the fire: the fireplace is a manual work.
There is no random thing in the interior of the restaurant; everything is exclusive, everything has a small warm sunny Armenia in itself. Many cookware items are made in Armenia in the seventh generation of experts. Fireplaces are made of pink travertine – a stone, from which all the historical parts of Yerevan are built. Antique furniture, chandeliers, carpets are hand made by Armenian experts. The founders of the restaurant tried to open not a simple “national” restaurant, as there are many, but a piece of Armenia – and they succeeded in that.
The restaurant’s menu was developed with no less attention and affection. Almost forgotten recipes from old cookbooks were specially selected.
The pride of the restaurant is real kyufta: meat of young calves, frayed between the stones, beaten like of soufflé and served like a ball. It also offers the best kebabs in the city, five types of dolma, “drunken chicken, marinated in white wine, branded Armenian soups. And the tea from the mountain herbs – home halva, amazing baklava, jam (walnut, peach, apricot, quince jam and white cherry). The list of beverage contains three varieties of the Armenian Beer (“Kilikia”, “Kotayk”, “Erebuni”). Flavorful fruit Armenia blackberry, pomegranate, quince wines, as well as the famous mulberry and cornel vodka and, of course, cognacs “Noah” and “Ararat” enjoy the attention and love of the guests. The assortment of wine contains strong alcohol from all over the world.
