Sophie Mensen Introduces Creative Columns
A designer from Eydhovena (Netherlands) Sophie Mensen offered creative option of spacious shelving, a very unusual way of masquerading as a decorative column.
Developed by the author the vertical cupboard called Column outwardly looks like a column, usually carrying a supporting or decorative function.
The construction consists of two parts: the body and the pedestal.
The body is made of cedar wood and contains a lot of boxes of various sizes, which open on all sides.
The pedestal is made of solid Carrara marble with a fixed height of 45 centimeters. With its help you can reach the topmost shelves of the cabinet. And when you’re not using a pedestal for its intended purpose, it can be pushed under the cupboard, performing the function of a minimalist decorative element, which is part of the whole.
It should be noted that thanks to such simple, but “ideological” “chips”, minimalist interiors are expressive and conceptual. By the way, the color of the wooden part of the column can vary, depending on your preference and colors of the interior of the customer. The height of the upper part is also variable.
