Loft Balance Between Nature And Urban Slums
The result of the design of this attic area space of 900 square meters has become the exclusive modern interior that creates an atmosphere of spacious homes, located not in the Chicago slums, but anywhere outdoors, near a lake or woods.
Making your own apartment, designers Byron and Nate left rough texture of the concrete ceiling and some functional elements located in the attic of a multistory house of one of the Chicago area (Illinois, USA).
However, the walls in some rooms were decorated with colored wallpaper pattern that is associated with the wildlife, indeed, the same slums, but of natural origin.
Spacious windows are designed, at the level of sensations, to extend the space of an apartment, bringing the situation in the city. Species located in front of tall buildings in a different, more refined interior, would be to put it mildly, inappropriate, requiring neutralization light curtains or heavy drapes.
But the designers went the other way, i.e. all are fair and harmonious, open and comfortable. Urban landscape in this modern flat is part of the interior, and the green carpet to simulate grass, is softening the transition between city and nature, shown in sky-blue wallpaper. Vintage handmade table, decorated with black and white retro photos on the associative level, acts as a “picnic basket”.
