Laconic Luxury in the Interior Design
Designer Tord Bonte became known to the world through fashion for baroque forms. One of his main achievements can be rightfully called the discovery of laser cutting. Perforation of the squares, circles and geometrically irregular holes today became the successor to the laurel of birds of paradise Torda Bonte.
It is known that virtually all of the aesthetics of minimalism is based on the following principle: the maximum effect can be achieved in the case of economy of visual means. And perhaps the most ascetic of the material present in the arsenal of the artist is the air. Therefore, it is not surprising that he works on an equal footing with the basic material in the perforated things and furniture, and “holed” objects become special uncluttered luxury and certain lightness.
Sometimes it seems that the old punch cards for computers have served as the prototype of these things. Suffice it to remember the structure of so naive information carriers: punched sector is a unit, and un-punctured one is zero. A ray of light, reading their sequence, transformed the data in binary code. In fact, the same is the basis of work for modern computers, they are just coping with the task more elegantly, without exposing at the same time all the “physiology” of the show.
In the perforated stuff in the first place shows some affecting and immaterial essence, also fencing off “physiology” in the background. Feature of this entity is also the fact that it can take a few levels. Close by you see a die-cut, i.e. series of clear openings. But, let’s move away for a couple of steps. Here it is, now you have integral picture. Here, the unbending steel may appear delicate lace moire, and the monochromatic fabric – complicated graphical picture. It is likely that on this worm-tree you can see the fragments of light flying in all directions.
