Green Invasion On The Streets Of Lima
Global standards argue that urban per capita should be eight square feet of recreational area. In modern Lima, as the figure is slightly less than two square meters. And in any traditional way to increase it is virtually impossible. But the city authorities do not lose hope. To implement the program on greening the city, prominent architects and designers were invited.
As a result, a project Invasion Verde (Green invasion), designed by architect Genaro Alva, Denise Ampuero, Gloria Andrea Rojas and industrial designer Claudia Ampuero within a set of measures Gran Semana de Lima, still known as the “Green week in Lima”.
Green invasion (Invasion Verde) arranged green spaces in a few central streets of Lima.
Where once seemed impossible, even planting a few trees, recently there were a whole green areas.
In the middle of the pedestrian streets, right on the pavement was sprinkled hills planted with grass. There were also delivered tubs with trees made out of old tires filled with earth.
Generally, tire usage has become an integral part of the project of Invasion Verde. Tubs, and flower beds have been made from tires, half of them were buried in the ground and painted just for beauty.
We have a similar technology in use for a long time, but in Peru, most likely, they became a real discovery!
It is worth mentioning that the inhabitants of Lima liked these green innovations. And the streets, where a project was undertaken Invasion Verde, immediately became one of the most popular in town.
