Metaform Architects Presents Pedestrian Bridge
The purpose of constructing a new pedestrian bridge in Esch-sur-Alzette (the second largest city in Luxembourg) was to create a direct connection between the “heart” of the city and raised a green area of the park Park of Galgenberg.
Avant-garde minimalist design of the bridge, designed by the architectural studio Metaform Architects, distinctly contrasts with the rather chaotic surroundings of it environment, consisting of power lines, pedestrian boulevard roadway with buses and railways with trains, lush vegetation, houses and other public objects.
Futuristic Link Between City And Nature
Important role in the perception of design is the lighting system and an inner shell design reminds of the decorations of a sci-fi movie. However, these associations also cause the appearance of the bridge at night.
Creating a stylish modern image, the aesthetics of the new bridge made this not noteworthy place a unique and attractive place for residents and visitors of this small and cozy European town.
