Functionality of Antonio Lupi’s Minimalism
We often wonder about the design of the things that surround us, of the way they are made, think whether it is possible to use another solution for them, take a look on the other side, simplify and make a more significant functionality for them.
I think everyone has faced with these issues at least once thinking of how to make things easier.
Anyway, looking through catalogues recently, I came across some interesting pictures of furniture in bathrooms, and later found out the manufacturer’s name and found more detailed information, and I was struck by the simplicity of performance, functionality and beauty of the seemingly standard things.
I’ll tell you a little about this factory, giving more attention to pictures of furniture that they produce, because it is better to watch than read words of admiration.
The factory of Antonio Lupi was founded at the beginning of 50’s, like many popular furniture factories in Italy. Antonio Lupi started working with glass, and gradually achieved incredible success in the furniture industry for bathrooms. The Extra collection in 1995 became uniqueness in the niche of furniture industry striking by its originality of design of seemingly standard things, ideally combining traditional and progressive styles.
Later, from one collection to another the company improved the style and continued to astound by the refinement of its furniture, laconism and at the same time passion and creativity, thanks to its designers Carlo Colombo, Nevio Tellatin, Mauro Carlesi etc..
Looking at their works, you realize the simplicity and functionality of the design. Here you can draw an analogy with the popular product of Apple company, or well thought-out software interface – there is nothing superfluous, only comfort and beauty of the style of execution.
