How to make the bedroom more spacious: 4 Tips

bedroom interior design

Even the most modest bedroom in size can be made visually spacious, if you competently approach the design of the interior. In this article we offer some useful tips on how to extend the bedroom space without making magic.

Optimizing storage system

Furniture for storage occupies a lot of space. For example, a decent wardrobe can exclude the availability of double bed in the room – are you ready to make such sacrifices? In general, it is not necessary to sacrifice: you can simply store your clothes in another room, leaving in the bedroom only portable hanger for those things that you are wearing now. Under the best of circumstances, if in the next room there is some free space, you can set a built-in wardrobe with sliding glass doors. So you will “kill two birds with one stone” – you will not occupy too much space, and will get a huge mirror that visually expands the space.

Hanging interior items

Bookcase is unsuitable within a small bedroom, even if you are an inveterate booklover and cannot sleep without reading a couple of chapters from the favorite detective story. And even if in addition to books you keep in the closet memorable trinkets – a shelf should be excluded from the room. All the contents can be beautifully arranged on open hanging shelves. First of all, it saves space, secondly, it is stylish and beautiful, and thirdly, in this way your bedroom will look more spacious.

Windows and doors in light

A dark massive door to the room will visually reduce the room even more. A sliding door into the room will give you extra meter of space. As for the windows, they should be as free as possible: do not overload the windowsill and do not make window opening with heavy curtains – bright light tulle will look much better.

Modest king-size bed

If you would like to relax on a large double bed then you are welcome. But if at the same time you want to make the room brighter and more spacious, choose a modest queen size bed without a huge headboard and bulging legs. And keep in mind another thing: the lower the bed is, the less massive it will seem.
